Product Review: The Original MakeUp Eraser

I’m such a sucker for a new product, so of course when I saw The Original MakeUp Eraser, makeup removing cloth, I had to have it. I know what you are thinking, it’s just a wash cloth. Shayna swears by tried and true plain old wash cloths to wash her face, so why did I get suckered into this $20 dollar wash cloth? For one it’s pink and soft and spoke to my girly side and second it claims to remove all types of makeup, even waterproof mascara without having to use any face wash at all, just good old fashioned warm water.

Could it be true? Could I finally throw out all my cleansers and makeup wipes for good?

I tried it on a night of heavy makeup to see if it really lived up to its’ claims and yes it did take off makeup, but not fully. I found myself having to really rub it off, which can’t be good for your skin, and in the end I did have to use cleanser to get it all off. I use it occasionally because I did pay for it and couldn’t return it. When I use it, I apply a makeup removing oil first to my face, then add cleanser to the cloth and rub that around till I’m squeaky clean. Sometimes I have to wash my face again with just my hands after using it to really get the makeup off.

I would not recommend this product, it’s pretty much a waste of money and is purely gimmicky.

What I like about it:
Soft and fuzzy feeling
Comes in a variety of colors

What I don’t like about it:
I could do the same with an average wash cloth
Makeup removing oils and cleansers alone do a better job
My hands do a better job and they’re completely free!

Details:
