Girlfriends I have been hearing the praises of Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder for years it seems. When I traveled in Europe a few months ago with contributor Melissa I used hers a few times to bake my face and liked the results, but hadn’t used it consistently to form judgement either way. Over the last few weeks I have been testing out new foundations and decided to purchase Laura’s powder to compliment my testing.
About the setting powder from Laura’s site: “With multiple major awards and counting, Laura Mercier’s “best in beauty”, cult-favorite bestseller is your go-to setting powder. Loose powder feels luxuriously dense in the jar, feels incredibly soft and silky-light on your skin. Pros love the super smooth application: goes on evenly, blends effortlessly, provides great wear. Sets makeup without adding weight or texture.”
Before I give my opinion, let me preface that I have been using Mac’s Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation paired with Mac’s Mineralize loose powder for a few years. The difference between the Laura powder and Mac’s is amazing. I am absolutely loving the finish from this powder more than I have from any other! I found after hours of wear the powder didn’t settle into fine lines or look cakey, which kept my face looking fresh. Two thumbs up from this girl!
Is this a holy grail product, I say YES and would 100% recommend this powder to anyone in the market 🙂
